What is Chiropractic care?

Dr. Erin White describes chiropractic care as a non-invasive, conservative approach to healthcare that supports the body's natural function and mobility. This holistic method treats the whole person, focusing on identifying and addressing the root cause of pain.

The primary technique used is manual manipulation, or adjustments, which involves precise, targeted movements to correct misalignments, alleviate pain and discomfort, and restore proper joint motion and function. We are also trained in instrument-adjusting for those that don't enjoy the 'Pop'.

Our Techniques

Our main adjusting techniques include Diversified, Thompson Drop, and Activator Protocol. We combine the advantages of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue mobilization, and rehab exercises for the best patient outcomes.

Diversified

Widely used chiropractic method that focuses on precise manual adjustments to correct spinal misalignments, improve joint function, and reduce pain. It involves high-velocity, low-amplitude thrusts to restore proper movement and alignment, often producing a characteristic “popping” sound. This technique is known for its effectiveness in addressing a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

Thompson Drop

A chiropractic method that uses a specialized table with drop sections to assist in spinal adjustments. When pressure is applied, the drop sections release slightly, allowing for a gentler, high-velocity, low-force adjustment. This technique enhances precision while minimizing discomfort, making it effective for spinal alignment, joint mobility, and overall musculoskeletal health.

Activator Protocol

Activator Protocol is a gentle, instrument-assisted chiropractic technique that uses the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver precise, low-force adjustments. This method follows a systematic approach, including leg-length analysis and motion testing, to identify and correct misalignments. It is often used for patients who prefer a non-manual adjustment, making it suitable for individuals with osteoporosis, arthritis, or sensitivities to traditional techniques.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Hands-on therapy technique that uses stretching, deep pressure, and manual massage to break up scar tissue, reduce muscle tension, and improve circulation. It helps to relieve pain, restore mobility, and decrease inflammation by targeting muscles, ligaments, and fascia.

Class IV Laser Therapy

A non-invasive treatment that uses high-powered laser light to penetrate deep into tissues, reducing pain, inflammation, and promoting faster healing. It is commonly used for conditions like tendonitis, muscle injuries, and joint pain.

Orthotics

Custom-made insoles designed to support and align the feet, improve posture, and correct biomechanical imbalances. They help relieve pain and enhance mobility in conditions affecting the feet, knees, hips, and lower back.

Active Release Technique

Keeping you properly aligned is our top priority. With Active Release Technique® (ART), we go beyond addressing spinal bones to focus on soft tissue issues. ART is a non-invasive, hands-on manual therapy designed to help those suffering from soft tissue, nerve, and joint injuries, reducing pain and dysfunction. This technique allows us to quickly identify the problem and work towards an effective resolution.

Before incorporating ART, Dr. Erin White was frustrated with the results of treating soft tissue injuries using only manual therapy. After completing the full-body ART training, he became a certified ART provider. By integrating ART into our range of therapies, we’ve seen greater success in treating these types of injuries.

What to Expect

Our chiropractors assess the texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments. If scar tissue is present, we can feel it as it restricts proper movement in soft tissues. This can lead to reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and even pain. If nerve tissue is trapped, symptoms such as tingling, numbness, and weakness may also occur.

When issues are detected, a specific amount of pressure is applied through targeted manual maneuvers, typically at the site of the injury. The results have been outstanding, especially with the neuromuscular system—muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.
