Massage Therapy in Sarnia

Massaging footMassage therapy is a hands-on treatment that involves the manipulation of soft tissues in the body to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, and enhance overall well-being. Our trained massage therapists use techniques such as kneading, stroking, and applying pressure to target specific body areas.

The pressure that’s applied during a massage depends on each person’s goals. For example, if someone is seeking a relaxation massage, we would use lighter pressure or more soothing techniques. Let’s say an athlete who’s preparing for an event comes in. For that person, the RMT would use joint mobilizations, deeper stretches and a little more vigorous technique. “Massage therapy is what you make of it—what you’re looking to get out of it,” said RMT Melanie Snyder.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between massage therapy and chiropractic care?

This type of bodywork manipulates soft tissue and in a different way than chiropractic manual therapy. With the treatment of soft tissue (muscles, tendons, etc.), patients can get relief from massage as they would from chiropractic therapy—just from a different approach. While massage therapy focuses on the soft tissues and chiropractic care on the muscles, joints and nerves, they both complement each other quite well.

How is this service different at our practice?
